Louis Vuitton
Is Augmented Reality the future of retail window displays?
I made a few quick demos to show how Louis Vuitton’s current visual merchandising could be extended using AR. Inspired by the vibrant Louis Vuitton wallpaper and 3D Christmas tree (featured in last week’s game of REALorAR.com), I created the monogram pattern in 3D using Adobe Aero and Dimension. I also exported the demos as USDZ files — viewable and shareable without a special app — in Apple AR QuickLook on iOS. The videos were recorded on site at LVMH Maison Louis Vuitton in Toronto.
I love the beauty, creativity, and vibrancy of the Louis Vuitton display windows and in store visual merchandising! I’ve always been a fan of artistic window displays: they’re a form of storytelling and creative expression; AR can help to enhance and extend this visual communication.
The first demo (videos below) showcases the AR elements within the window, giving 3D form to the monogram wallpaper. The second and third demo break the fourth wall of the display entering the streetscape. The fourth video imagines these 3D elements as a playful sculpture at the store entrance.

Freshly added:
I was so inspired by the beautiful towering outdoor sculpture at the Louis Vuitton Galleria Seoul Korea, I recreated the special installation in 3D with AR (videos below) and placed it at the Louis Vuitton Toronto flagship store exterior. I also couldn’t resist making a miniature AR version for the store window!
