Metaverse in the Woods
The further into the metaverse I travel, the deeper into the woods I must go.
Nature continues to be a necessity to my deep work in Augmented Reality and virtual environments over the last 16 years. The more I immerse myself in technology and new virtual worlds, the more important nature becomes to observe, appreciate, and learn from. (My metaverse reading list is all nature titles; I’ll share more on that another time.)
For now, turn your speakers on and please enjoy this video of my most recent Augmented Reality NFT. The artwork is currently available on Foundation, with the winning bidder receiving a link to the AR experience (not accessible anywhere else).
The artwork was inspired by the beauty of daily morning offerings in Bali. Sea Foam AR represents invisible forces and the swirling energy of creation. A swan shape takes form from the foam, dancing upon the stillness of the water. As I record the AR experience, my body, like the water, becomes still, a calm observer appreciating both the invisible and physical environment I am enchanted to find myself in.
And if you’re looking for a virtual bed to lay your head, Sea Queen AR is also available. Special thanks to Paris Hilton for handpicking this piece in her top 10 for her latest crypto art exhibition “Empowered by Paris”.
My most recent AR commission was for Louis Vuitton, with my artwork showcased in all 500 stores worldwide. Louis Vuitton invited 200 artists to reimagine the iconic trunk in celebration of their founder’s 200th birthday. Featured artists include Drake, BTS, Es Devlin, Kim Jones, as well as Lego, and The Simpsons. The trunks, both physical and digital will be on auction at Sotheby’s in 2022. All proceeds from this legacy project to charity.
My AR artwork is also part of the travelling Louis 200 exhibition, which launches tomorrow at the historical home of the Louis Vuitton family in Asnières, France, just outside of Paris. More details to come. With deep gratitude and awe. Follow me on Instagram and Twitter for updates and the tour schedule.
